Meet Luke Gannon
Luke comes from a musical lineage. His great, great grandmother’s first cousin, Michael Canavan, was the very first button accordion player in the Renvyle Peninsula.
Luke began learning the Accordion in Eagle’s Nest National School under the tutelage of Sligo born musician, Mary Finn. Fast forward a few years, he began attending lessons in the Teach Ceoil, Tully, Renvyle, run by the local Comhaltas Branch.
Later, he embarked on his teaching journey at the early age of 17. He also has a keen interest in musical heritage and has done a lot of research on the musical history of the Renvyle Peninsula.

- Written over 60 original tunes
- Began playing professionally aged 13
- Started teaching aged 17
- Winner of county/provincial titles at Fleadh Cheoil
